Jeremiah is known as the “weeping Prophet.”
God consecrated Jeremiah (i.e., set him aside for a special, divine purpose) before he was born. God called him to be a prophet to the nations (Chapter 1:5). At first, Jeremiah resisted because he was a youth. He felt ill-equipped and feared failure.
BUT GOD responded, (Chapter 1:7,8), “Do not say, ‘I am a youth, because everywhere I send you … you shall go, and all that I command you, you shall speak.” (v.8) “Do not be afraid of them (people), for I am with you to deliver you,” declares the LORD.”
Then God touched Jeremiah’s mouth to put God’s words into the young man’s mind and mouth (i.e., God equipped Jeremiah to do the task God called him to do.”
I love this passage because shows us that God is intentional when he creates us. Our personalities, abilities, aptitudes, gifts, and callings are person specific. All of us are uniquely crafted by God our Creator.
What is God calling you to do or be in your life right now. Most of us are gravely aware of our weaknesses and insecurities, but no matter what we struggle with, God has called you to be the man or woman He created you to be. Then God gives you the DIVINE GRACE (divine enablement) to carry out what He has called you to do.
Are you currently in a situation where you fear failure or where you consistently feel “less than” those around you? If you choose to believe that God has specific gifts and callings that He’s given to you alone. You are special. You are unique. There is no duplicate of you. God loves you and He has no favorites. “There is no partiality in God,” Romans 2:11.
You can choose to live in a lie, “that you are less than,” or you can choose to believe the truth that you are one of a kind and a priceless gem in God’s economy.
What are you going to choose today? Please choose the truth!!!!
