Cracked Pots

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it.  The other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master’s house.  The cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his masters house.  Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments; […]

Here’s another trick of Doctor Dementia to test your
skills….

I’ve  seen this with the letters out of order, but
this is the first time  I’ve seen it with
numbers.
Good example of a Brain Study: If you can read this
OUT LOUD, you have a strong mind. And better than
that:

Alzheimer’s is a long long, way down the road before it
ever gets anywhere near you.

Marriage to the Lamb (Our Bridegroom)

Imagine the Highest Officiate conducting a marriage ceremony between Jesus, the Lamb of God, and the Bride of Christ (the Church of God.)  The dialogue might go something like the following:

“Jesus, do you take this Bride for your own?”

“I do!!”

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory for the wedding of the Lamb has come.”

(The witnesses are led into the palace with joy and gladness.  They are wearing glistening white, pure linen, interwoven with gold.  This symbolizes purity and represents the Church’s righteousness.  Jesus, the Bridegroom has made all Christians righteousness through His shed blood on the cross.)

Prayer to Our Sovereign God

Dear Lord,

I believe you are a sovereign God; creator of heaven and earth.

I believe you are the ruler of the universe and Lord of the landscape of my life.

However small a parcel of ground that is within your universe —

it is still within your universe and under your watchful eye.

I believe that you know what happens to us.

I believe you care.

I believe that you are good … and that all things work together for good

… for those who love you and are […]

My Identity in Christ

Because of Christ’s redemption,

I am a new creation of infinite worth.

I am deeply loved.

I am completely forgiven.

I am fully pleasing.

I am totally accepted by God.

I am absolutely complete in Christ.

When my performance reflects my new identity in Christ,

that reflection is dynamically unique.

There has never been another person like me in the history of mankind,

nor will there ever be.

God has made me an original, one of a kind,

really somebody.

People Can’t See the Crack (Wound)

“I try to believe,” she said, “that God doesn’t give you more than one little piece of the story at once.

You know, the story of your life.

Otherwise your heart would crack wider than you could handle.  He only cracks it enough so you can still walk, like someone wearing a cast.

But you’ve still got a crack running up your side,

big enough for a sapling to grow out of.

ONLY … NO ONE SEES IT.

NOBODY SEES IT!!!!!

Everybody thinks you’re one whole piece, and so they treat you […]

2 Corinthians 4:17 … Perspective on Pain

There is a lot of pain in this world.  As believers, what are we to make of it, as we see pain touch our lives or the lives of family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, or even enemies?

It is not uncommon to hear believers say something like, “I don’t know why God is punishing me like this,” when they find out they have an illness, disappointment, trial or tribulation.  We need to be careful who we blame for such sources of pain.

God allows pain to touch our lives, but He, unlike Satan, allows pain to touch […]

It’s Normal to Want to Connect – Larry Crabb

A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT …

The deepest urge in every human heart is to be in relationship

with someone who absolutely delights in us;

someone … who has no greater joy than giving to us;

someone who (encourages us) … to use everything  … for the good

of others, and (who helps us KNOW) we have something to give.
